Friend or Foe?
A lot of what I do involves careful observation. I am always on the look out for signs of pests, disease, and our friends. I've been closely monitoring my False Indigo, Baptisia, because of some curious holes on the leaves. Now, these aren't a major concern, but while looking I saw some pale yellow dots, less than a millimeter big!

Solitary eggs are usually a good sign of benficial insects like butterflies, and Baptisia is a host plant for a few different kinds. The most common is the Wild Indigo Duskywing; a visitor we had last season.

While I can't confirm it, I suspect that is our first egg-laying visitor in The Waystation. Once the eggs hatch, any day now, I'll try to capture some close-ups of the caterpillars and they're lifecycle. So today, I'm calling this Day 1.
